Edward J. Boula to Moderate Local Government Law Seminar

Edward J. Boula will moderate the Kane County Bar Association Local Government Law Committee Continuing Legal Education Seminar at Eagle Brook County Club in Geneva, Illinois on April 20, 2017. The seminar will provide over three credit hours of Continuing Legal Education for attorneys. Participation in the seminar is free for Kane County Bar Association members but is available to non-members for the usual fee. Contact www.kanecountybar.org or call (630) 762-1915 to register.

Topics at the seminar will include: The Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act, to be presented by Leaha Bartlett of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, Public Access Counselor; Illinois Records Act Compliance, which will be covered by Steve Colaizzi, of the Local Records Unit, Secretary of State’s Office; Updates on New Legislation and Case Law, to be presented by Jessica L. Briney and Laura M. Julien of Mickey, Wilson, Weiler, Renzi and Andersson; and a panel discussion on Legislation in Springfield and Local Government. The panelists will include Susan Hilton, from the Illinois Association of School Boards and other participants to be announced.

The Kane County Bar Association is a leader in Continuing Legal Education in the state. The Kane County Bar Association was the first Bar Association to provide free CLE to all of its members before continuing Legal Education is mandated by the Illinois Supreme Court for all attorneys. The Drendel and Jansons Law Group has been a continuous participant in providing Continuing Legal Education for attorneys and was instrumental in bringing free CLE to Kane County Bar Association members.
