On June 13, 2019, Mark D. Brent, an attorney with the Drendel & Jansons Law Group, was sworn in as a member of the Kane County Bar Association Board of Managers after being appointed to fill a vacated term. Mark Brent becomes the fourth current member of the Firm to serve on the Kane County Bar Association Board of Managers, and at least the seventh member of the Firm, past and present, to do so.
The Kane County Bar Association includes attorneys who are members with practices primarily in northern Illinois. The KCBA was the first bar association in the State to offer free continuing legal education for its members and continues to be a leader in providing CLE for attorneys. The KCBA was actually the very first bar association in the State going back to the days when Abraham Lincoln “rode the circuit” on a horse, traveling to courthouses from town to town as they did in those days.
Mark graduated with a law degree from the University of Illinois and began his practice in Cook County doing insurance defense litigation. Mark moved back out to Aurora where Mark grew up to continue his law career in the suburbs before joining the Drendel & Jansons Law Group in 2009. Mark concentrates his practice in family law litigation, handling divorces, child custody cases, paternity actions and related matters. Mark has authored books and chapters of books on family for attorneys and non-attorneys. Mark is also an Eagle Scout, and the father of an Eagle Scout. Mark continues his long-time participation in scouting as a leader in the Three Fires Council in Northern Illinois. Mark is also a member of the Aurora Kiwanis Noon Group.
